The purpose of the IISAAK OLAM Foundation is to enhance socio-ecological resilience by cultivating a movement for bio-cultural diversity, conservation, sustainable development, and Reconciliation.
To meet our purpose, we support programs that:
Share knowledge across cultures and generations for sustainable living
Facilitate dialogue that inspires action around Reconciliation and decolonization
Provide experiential, on-the-land education
“To respect is to observe, appreciate, and act accordingly.”
— The Nuu-chah-nulth law of Iisaak, sun-moon crest
The cultural philosophies behind the words IISAAK OLAM are about respecting the earth. This value is at the heart of the IISAAK OLAM Foundation and from the diverse cultural backgrounds of its founders, Eli Enns and Monica Shore.
IISAAK OLAM launched a first-of-its-kind co-locator (co-working space) in Victoria BC. The Reconciliation Zone opened its doors on March 1, 2018, bringing together individuals and organizations that foster Reconciliation through their work. The ReZone is a space for incubating and piloting ideas and projects that generate collaborative opportunities to address bio-cultural diversity, conservation, sustainable development, and Reconciliation.
